When you're stuck at the corner of F n' A

The crossroads between F n' A are a place many of us have been at one time or another. If you haven't made it there yet, you will. A place where it seems no choice is the right one, a place where anxiety and depression wait to hitch a ride on the next weary traveler. While I would love to tell you that there is a special herbal tea blend that will magically lift a person out of this place, there is no remedy for the tough times in life, but time itself. However, using plants as allies to assist us in these times of great transformation and growth, can be an incredible journey of it's own. Plants are wonderful friends...they listen without giving opinion, they are always there for you when you need them, and they often give you exactly what you need, whether or not you even know what that is at the time. Working with plants as allies through difficult times has deepened my relationship with herbs perhaps more than any other experience and the effects they can have on a person's spiritual development is not to be underestimated. I have often started working with an herb for what I thought was a physical ailment, only to find myself unraveling lifetimes of trauma. I firmly believe that to each life experience where healing is needed, there is always a physical, emotional and spiritual component. We are energy. Plants are energy. Each being- plant, animal and human alike, have their own unique vibration. When we put these vibrations together, we get a new frequency...and the nature of frequencies is always to find harmony. It's not just some woo woo theory...it's actual science. Finding the plants that will help you on your journey can be a really fun and intimate experience. It is not something you will read about in a book, or find the answer to in an online quiz. It is subtle, personal and ever changing. The best way to begin the journey is to spend time with a quiet mind, listening to what the plants have to say. They speak in a different language, one that is always there but can only be perceived by those who stop to listen. As always, proceed with respect, humility and due caution. While I strongly encourage everyone to find their own relationship with herbs, there are a ton of great resources to ensure that what you are doing is smart and safe. Enjoy the journey :)
